Career Opportunities For Artists

That’s me

If you want to make a career out of your art there are a number of things that you’re going to want to know.

For 1 starters, are you 100% sure that this is something that you’re going to want to do for the next 10 years.

There are many career opportunities for artists out there, and even more popping up every day. Especially these younger generation people are making things into an art form that I would have never even guessed could be an art form. A couple years ago I saw a man who used dryer lint to make art. I have to hand it to the guy, I just throw mine out, but hey he made it work and even got featured on a

That’s something you’re definitely going to want to consider because, the quality of the work that you portray is going to show the level of seriousness that you are invested in this decision.

I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a career artist. Ever since the age of 11, even before 11 I knew that art was something that I could not live without.

My father was an artist of many talents, so there were many times when he was working on a project that I would see sketches, wood carving, leather working, paintings, signs that he would make, and even taxidermy work.

So this is something that you’re definitely going to want to weigh the consequences out before you make the decision to be a full-blown career artist.

  • The Opportunities are endless

I’m sure you’ve heard the term starving artist which doesn’t have the same weight as it used to way back when.

Because years ago there were artists that only stuck to the very traditional forms of Art and tried many ways to make that work. But once something has been tried and proven and done a million times its hard to reinvent the horse.

Granted there are those names of many famous artists that stand out even to this day because they were a hundred percent original of what they brought to the table. They weren’t copying each other’s work They saw something became inspired and in whatever way they chose, they re-created it or the feeling of what inspired them, or the mood, or did their best to bring the observer in close and intimate with the recapturing of their soul in that moment.

Art is a moving breathing thing. That takes on a life of its own given the confines of its delivered space. It borrows our eyes and senses to dance with it in an intricate weaving of chords to build within the beholder a glimpse and a stance of radiance that will stay with you in your minds eye forever.

Yes in case you’re wondering I am a poet, It’s another form of art. One can paint a much larger picture with words than he or she can with brush and canvas.

I believe one key element to being a career artist, is to keep your ideas fresh and think outside of the box. Be Never afraid to explore the possibilities of experimenting with shapes, colors, lines, shades, dimensions, techniques, blends, and abstracts etc.

I don’t say that to have you completely change what you want to do as far as creating, I say that there are many avenues that are out there, that are looking for the next You! And their not going to come knock on your door, you have to be diligent in looking for them. which brings me to my next point.

And let’s be real, you must realize that, that first person or business where the job opportunity that you searched out and came upon is not necessarily going to be the one that is going to start, bend, bleed, brake, or complete your career.
